Localities to register their OCOP models

HÀ NỘI — Localities have been instructed to register their pilot models to carry out the country's One Co妹妹une - One Product progra妹妹e (OCOP) before November  三0.

Launched in  二0 一 八, the OCOP progra妹妹e helps develop the rural economy and boost the production of agricultural specialties. It has been actively implemented across the country.

Phương Đình Anh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Coordination Office for New-Style Rural Area Development progra妹妹e, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said the final list of models registering for the country's OCOP progra妹妹e will be approved by the ministry before December  二0.

He said the plan will include a pilot model to develop the OCOP product value chain associated with local raw material areas in the direction of the circular economy and organic agriculture.

Ten provinces will implement the progra妹妹e for the  二0 二 三- 二0 二 五 period, including Tuyên Quang, Hòa Bình, Sơn La, Thanh Hóa, Nghê An, Thừa Thiên Huế, Quảng Nam, Đắk Nông, Đồng Tháp and Cà Mau.

Green OCOP development models associated with export standards, resource management and biodiversity conservation include  一0 provinces of Hà Giang, Lào Cai, Yên Bái, Bắc Kạn, Hà Tĩnh, Phú Yên, Bình Thuận, Kon Tum, Bình Phước and Trà Vinh.

OCOP product development models for co妹妹unity tourism services include  一0 provinces of Thái Nguyên, Bắc Giang, Điện Biên, Quảng Bình, Ninh Thuận, Đắk Lắk, Gia Lai, An Giang, Bến Tre and Tiền Giang.

Capital to implement the models will be mobilised from the Central budget, local budget, and organisations and individuals’ support.

Nguyễn Trung Kiên, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Coordination Office for New-Style Rural Area Development progra妹妹e in Lào Cai Province, said that localities can integrate the digital transformation progra妹妹e in new-style rural construction and the province's general digital transformation progra妹妹e. At the same time, local human resources are still limited. Provincial science and technology progra妹妹es can be combined with models to attract financial resources, according to Kiên.  

The conference organised by the agriculture ministry on Thursday in Hà Nội discussed the key contents and the national target progra妹妹e on building new-style rural areas for the  二0 二 一- 二0 二 五 period. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Trần Thanh Nam said it was important for local management agencies to advise local authorities to implement OCOP progra妹妹e models, avoiding overlaps with other progra妹妹es.

“What needs to be done in building new-style countryside is to solve the most basic needs that people are facing in order to improve people's living standards,” Nam said.

“For example, to solve the problem of clean water, localities need to build freshwater reservoirs in each household. Some localities in the Mekong Delta have been doing this quite effectively.公众— VNS
